Choosing a camp for your child comes with a lot of questions - and we want you to feel informed and confident before your camper ever arrives.

Here you will find answers to come questions families ask us most often about Camp Anothen, including what to expect, what to bring, safety, registration, and the camp day.

  • Camp Anothen is a Christian outdoor day camp in Mansfield Texas, where kids experience adventure, friendships, and opportunities to learn about Jesus in a fun and welcoming environment. Everything we do is build around three core foundations: FUN. SAFE. GOSPEL.

  • No. Camp Anothen is a day camp, which means campers enjoy a full day of activities and return home at the end of the day.

  • Camp days are filled with a mix of outdoor activities, games, time with friends, group experiences, and age-appropriate opportunities to learn and grow. While schedules may vary by program and age group, our goal is to create a day that is active, engaging, and meaningful from arrival and pick up.

  • That is completely normal. Many campers arrive without knowing anyone. Our staff works intentionally to help campers feel welcomed, included, and connected to their group from the beginning of the day.

  • Safety is one of our core foundations at Camp Anothen. Our commitment to safety influences how we screen and train staff, prepare for emergences, respond to weather, oversee activities, and care for campers throughout the day. You can learn more about our safety practices on our Safety page.

  • Our team has procedures in place for responding when a camper becomes sick or injured. Families are contacted when appropriate, and our staff follows established medical and emergency protocols based on the situation.

  • We monitor weather conditions and have procedures in place for situations such as storms, extreme heat, and other weather concerns. We will take shelter if there is lightning in the area and we have to wait 30 mins until we are able to proceed to camp activities. When conditions require changes to the camp day, our priority is always the safety of campers and staff.

  • Families will receive information before camp outlining what their camper should bring each day. This may include a water bottle, appropriate clothing and shoes, sunscreen, and other program-specific items.

  • Our Christian faith is woven throughout the Camp Anothen experience. Campers have opportunities to hear about Jesus, ask questions, build relationships with caring leaders, and see faith modeled throughout the camp day. We do daily bible studies each morning and sing songs during Morning rally.
