Preparing for the Summers Ahead

Camp Anothen will not hold summer camp in 2027, but the work of camp isn’t stopping.

This season gives us the opportunity to care for what has been entrusted to us—to invest in our people, strengthen the systems behind camp, and care for the property that makes so many camp memories possible.

Our goal is to welcome campers back at full capacity in Summer 2028, and we want you to be part of the journey along the way.

This is where we’ll share the progress, projects, and moments that are helping prepare Camp Anothen for the summers ahead.

What We’re Working On

Our People

Great camp experiences start with great people. We’re using this time to strengthen leadership, staff development, training, and the preparation that supports future Camp Anothen teams.

Our Systems

There is a lot that happens behind the scenes before a camper ever arrives. We’re reviewing and strengthening the systems that support registration, family communication, staffing, daily operations, safety, and the overall camper experience.

Our Campus

Camp Anothen is a place filled with memories, adventure, and ministry. During this season, we’ll be caring for and improving the facilities and spaces that make those experiences possible.

Camp Is Still Camp

Even in a different season, the heart of Camp Anothen hasn’t changed.

We still believe kids need places to laugh hard, try new things, build meaningful friendships, experience the outdoors, and hear the truth of the Gospel from people who genuinely care about them.

That is what we are preparing for.

We are grateful for every camper, family, staff member, and partner who has helped make Camp Anothen what it is. Thank you for continuing to pray for us, encourage us, and walk alongside us as we prepare for the summers ahead.

You don’t have to wait until next summer to experience Camp Anothen. Throughout the year, we’ll continue creating opportunities for kids and families to come together, have fun, make memories, and stay connected to the Camp Anothen community.

  • No. Camp Anothen will not operate during Summer 2027, but we are actively working toward welcoming campers back at full capacity in Summer 2028.

  • We have made the decision to dedicate the 2027 season to work that needs our focused time and attention. This includes investing in our people, strengthening the systems behind camp, and caring for the facilities that support the camp experience.

    Attempting to complete this work while also preparing for and operating camp would divide our attention. We believe faithful stewardship for us right now means giving this work the time and care it requires.

  • Our work will focus on three primary areas:

    • People: Strengthening leadership, staff development, and the preparation needed to support future camp teams.

    • Systems: Reviewing and improving the behind-the-scenes processes that support registration, communication, staffing, daily operations, and the camper experience.

    • Facilities: Completing important care and improvements across the Camp Anothen property.

    More information will be shared as plans are confirmed.

  • No. Registration for Summer 2027 will not open because Camp Anothen will not offer summer programs in 2027.

  • That is our goal. We are actively and thoughtfully working toward welcoming campers back at full capacity in Summer 2028. Information will be shared as plans are confirmed.

  • Future Camp Anothen information will be shared through email, the Camp Anothen website, and Camp Anothen’s social-media pages.
